The explosive growth in mobile devices, high-bandwidth applications, and the Internet of Things (IoT) all place greater demands on WLANs. The new 802.11ac Wave 2 standard has come along just in time, and Mojo and Qualcomm are on board with it.
Also known as 802.11ac-2013, Wave 2 is an update to the original specification that (among other advances) uses MU-MIMO (multi-user multiple-input, multiple-output) to send data to multiple devices, simultaneously. MU-MIMO’s smart antenna technology means more efficient spectrum use, higher system capacity, reduced latency, and better security. It’s particularly useful for smartphones and tablets, and as you might expect, it’s much faster, with a theoretical maximum of 6.8Gbps.

On Tuesday, March 8th, at 8:00 am PST (11:00 am EDT), Mojo Networks will have a free webinar on Wave 2 technology. It will be presented by Sriram Venkiteswaran (Director of Product Management, Mojo Networks) and Simon Brand (Sr. Director of Product Management, Qualcomm). It’s a fine opportunity to hear from Qualcomm about this new chipset.
They’ll cover such topics as:
- How Wave 2 can help K-12, higher education, enterprise, and retail
- The Wave 2 standard, capabilities, and advantages
- The new Qualcomm QCA9994 chipset
- The new Mojo C-120 access point
